White Feather Roaring 20's Ball - in aid of Clic Sargent

We present our Roaring 20's Ball to be held at the prestigious 4 Star Crowne Plaza Hotel, Congress Road, Glasgow on 16th May 2015 and is in aid of Clic Sargent's Young Persons Lounge.

CLIC Sargent is a cancer charity for children and young people who are in the process of relocating their Home from Home to a site adjacent to the new Cancer Unit in the Southern General Hospital this year.

We have set ourselves the mammoth task of raising approx. £15,000 to create a Young Person's Lounge within the Home where the children, family and friends can 'hang out', socialise and feel normal again. There will be patio doors from the room opening to the garden and a child's play area evoking a homely, calming environment.

You cannot afford to miss this night - not only will you have a delicious dining experience, fabulous entertainment and wonderful raffles and auction items but at the same time raising money for a remarkable and well deserving cause!

Reserve your tickets now - either contact Eileen on info@whitefeathercharity.co.uk or on 07876 032 313.

We hope to hear from you soon!!

A massive thank you to everyone who came to our charity night last night - what a great night!

Thank you everyone so much again!

NEW WHITE FEATHER APPEAL - Wonderful cause for Clic Sargent!

Strathclyde Really are the finest!!!

A massive thank you to Jim Packer and Jim Metters of Strathclyde's Finest for their wonderful donation of £1,000 presented to White Feather in September.

Jim and their members enjoyed a tour of several Bowling Clubs during this season and by holding court they imposed fines and penalties on certain players for numerous misdemeanour's including 'Not having the correct hair style', 'Having a button missing from a shirt', 'Shoes not being polished properly' and so on.

A riot was had by all resulting in this phenomenal donation - thank you so very very much - it is most gratefully appreciated!

£14,000 Raised for St Andrews Appeal and Glasgow Biomedical Research Centre Appeal - Thank you so much everyone!

Congratulations to all our supporters and for everyone who fundraised on our behalf.

We have completed our goal and the Tranquility Room at St Andrews Hospice is well and truly open. Eileen and I had the honour of opening the room for the benefit of the patients, families and staff alike. What a beautiful, bright and calming room! The complete transformation needs to be seen to be believed - well done St Andrews Hospice.

In one corner of the room there are fabulous custom made stain glass windows, which even incorporate a White Feather (have a look at the photos) which we were incredibly touched by. These windows enhance the room and the colours and ambiance they bring ensures that the room has a welcoming, calming and peaceful aura.

Thank you once again for making a real difference to St Andrews Hospice and it will be our absolute pleasure to help them once again in the future.

The Microscope we also pledged for the Glasgow Biomedical Research Centre has now been paid for in full and we are simply waiting confirmation from Professor Graham that it has arrived and is in use. For more photos click here.

This photo was taken just after superfit Iain completed his monumental cycle over 257 miles over 4 days in the Fit for 14 Commonwealth Games - Tour de Venue!!!!!!! Like Diane he doesn't even looked puffed! Amazing! How can anyone look so fresh after what he has endured!

This is hard to believe but Iain has cycled on behalf of White Feather a total of 338 miles within 2 weeks (not to mention all the training he has completed) and in addition to the amount Iain raised at the Ball he has amassed a further £325!!!!! Amazing!!!!

We cannot thank him enough and are truly grateful! Thank you also to everyone who donated - we are another step closer to our target now

Many congratulations to Diane who unbelievably managed to complete the 26.2 Mile Edinburgh Marathon - and may I say from this photograph she looks fabulous and not even out of puff!

This phenomenal achievement has already raised £395.00 and we cannot express our thanks and gratitude to Diane for choosing us as her favoured charity - she is truly amazing and puts us all to shame!!! Thank you so much!

Hope you drank copious amounts of wine after the race  you certainly deserved it!

Good Luck to Diane Tobert who is brave or should I say mad enough to compete in Sunday's Edinburgh Marathon!

She is a wonderful person and has agreed to donate all the sponsorship raised to White Feather which means we hopefully will reach our target in no time and be able to complete our two current appeals.

We cannot thank Diane enough and will be with her all the way!!! She certainly deserves a cool glass of wine at the finish line  What a star

We have to give another massive thank you to Iain Craib, who not content with completing the Etape Caledonia 81 Mile Cycle for our 2 Appeals for St Andrews Hospice and Glasgow Biomedical Research Centre, is back with a vengeance and is participating in another cycling event over this bank holiday weekend.

Superfit Iain is cycling once again for White Feather in the Fit for 14 Commonwealth Games - Tour de Venue, and intends to raise even more money to ensure we complete out two appeals.

We cannot thank him enough - to cycle one race for us was absolutely wonderful but to do another event within 2 weeks ensuring we are one step closer to our target is unbelievable and we are truly overwhelmed and touched by his kindness.. not to mention astounded by his energy and fitness!!!!

The Commonwealth Games - Tour de Venue consists of 3 stages with a prologue and will be a total of 257 miles over 4 days!!! Phenomenal achievement!!

The prologue cycles throughout the City of Glasgow and the surrounding area's sporting venues and stages 1-3 will be cycling around the following venues :

Suggestions
Sept 2013

We have been asked by one of the Research Scientists at the Centre for Immunobiology, Institute of Infection, at the University of Glasgow to assist with the purchase of a piece of specialised microscopy equipment to assist with the cause and treatment and cure of cancers and other diseases. The Cost is in the region of £7,000.

We have also been asked to buy items for the St Andrews Hospice in Airdrie, the items required and cost will follow hopefully within the next week or so - as will more detail on the Microscopy equipement.

What are your thoughts - two very worthy causes - let us know if you have any other suggestions?
